In October 2019, DME Aerosol will participate in “Cosmetic Industry: Looking into the Future” Conference

DME Aerosol within the framework of participation in conference “Cosmetic Industry: Look in the Future”, organized by RPCA, prepared information for producers of goods for household chemistry and cosmetics. For the recent 10 years consumption of DME in Russia increased by 280%. Before До 2019 it used to be a propellant market that was 100% import dependent. With the advent of Russian production of DME further growth of demand is expected in the segments of perfumery (deodorants, hair sprays), household chemicals (air fresheners) and repellants.

Phase-out of imported DME has economic and logistic advantages.

Changeover for DME instead of propane and butane mixtures for producers of household chemicals and cosmetics is determined by unique properties of the product: solvency in respect of polymers, compatibility with other solvents and propellants, high solubility in water and absence of flavor.

Dimethyl ether is non-toxic for consumers, does not affect the environment, which conforms the norms of current state ecological policy in Russia.

DME Aerosol took an active part in the 5th international specialized exhibition  Import Phase-out

In mid-September 2019 DME Aerosol took an active part in the 5th international specialized exhibition  Import Phase-out in Moscow, having reported on the topic “Import Phase-out in Propellant Market. Experience of DME Aerosol on the Example of Dimethyl Ether” in the framework of the conference “Import Phase-out in Chemical Industry: Implemented Projects and Measures of Support”.

In the framework of the event took place the international forum for import phase-out “Russian Production in the Focus of the National Projects”, during which were discussed achievements and problems of business in support of the national projects. The discussions were participated by heads of authorities, specialized ministries and establishments, regional leaders.

«To solve the tasks for improvement of competitiveness of our economy it is required to switch from import phase-out policy to import independence strategy. This does not presume any isolation or self-restrictions. On the contrary, import independence must serve as a systematic mechanism of industrial policy, which will allow in the shortest time to ensure production of globally competitive products. It is not only about import phase-out, but import advance of highly technological foreign products for increase of export share of Russian highly technological products and services. The national projects are an efficient tool for the prospective changeover for such import independence strategy”, – said the deputy of the State Duma and the coordinator of the federal party project “Locomotives of Growth” Denis Kravchenko, which in the framework of the business program acted as a moderator of the session “Russian Production in the Focus of the National Projects”.

As far as dimethyl ether is concerned, which until 2018 was 100% import dependent and constituted a little over 6 th. t. per year, with the advent of Russian production, an increment of market capacity by 12 th. t. per year is forecasted mainly due to positive import phase-out, as well as substitution of utilized propellants (Analysis of DME Aerosol).

DOORS OPEN DAY IN JSC DME AEROSOL

DOORS OPEN DAY IN JSC DME AEROSOL

It took several years for the companies to come to the ceremonial day of presentation of the new product taken place on September 5th, 2019. DME project is a special one among investment project since this product was never produced in Russia before recently, it was procured from abroad. Having that, aerosol-grade DME is highly demanded in Russia and Europe.

A creative show with flags of the three companies served as an opening for the ceremonial part of the event and emphasized gracefully the importance of the moment.

In the presentation ceremony of the new product took part Director General of DME Aerosol O.V. Makarov, Vice-Chairman of Board of Directors and Managing Director of PCC SE Alfred Pelzer, Vice-President – Head of Department of Finance of Oil, Gas and Chemical Industry of Gazprombank V.S. Okhotin, Vice-President, Head of Gazprombank Branch “Srednerusskiy” N.A. Antonova, heads of Shchekino District. Oleg Makarov reminded the guests about main stages of project implementation and noted that the initiators of the new plant construction were representatives of PCC SE. Investment in the project – over 20 million Euros. Financial support to the project was lent by a reliable partner – Gazprombank. «We followed the way of the pioneers. And certainly, it was not easy. We were lacking practical operation experience, since this particular plant layout was designed for a specific production site – OJSC Shchekinoazot. And during implementation of the project the process underwent a series of modifications which improved safety and reliability of the process as well as stability of product quality and its high environmental friendliness. At DME plant was utilized a brand new technology – not cleaning of wastes generated during methanol production, but dewatering process in two reactors with further rectification of the mixture and bringing the product to aerosol quality, – noted Oleg Makarov.

Experience of interaction between the two companies during implementation of the project was highly valued by Alfred Pelzer: For a long time we were evaluating and choosing a company that we are ready to make this project come to life with, – noted Mr. Pelzer. – Many circumstances needed to combine. Among them are human potential, degree of trust between the partners, technologies, availability of raw materials stock, consistency of relationships with banks. In case of Shchekinoazot all conditions were perfectly align. And today is a cheerful day – we are presenting a high-quality product, that I am sure will find its buyer as it has the widest sphere of application.

About where and how is dimethyl ether useful to people recounted M.A. Unagaev, Deputy Commercial Director of LLC DME Aerosol.

A.K. Surba, Director General of OJSC Shchekinoazot, highlighted that DME is the second project of wide-scale Enterprise Development Strategy, according to which in 2018 were put into service for industrial plants (methanol-ammonia complex M-450/A-135, sulfuric acid plant, aerosol-grade dimethyl ether plant and treatment facilities). One of the aims of the company is to produce goods with high added value.

Now the top grade DME is available to our clients directly from the vendor for affordable prices and with shortest delivery terms.

DME Aerosol Commence DME Supply to Polikhim-Voronezh

DME Aerosol in terms of import phase-out program started supply of DME to a Russian vendor of aerosol paints “Polikhim-Voronezh”. A reminder: dimethyl ether is a well-known product for European PWM vendors, and at the same time it is new for Russia and CIS, which was earlier imported in small amounts only. Use of DME as a propellant for aerosol paints facilitates improvement of finished goods properties thanks to its main advantage – solubility. Since DME is both a propellant and a solvent, finished aerosol product features the following:

  • quicker drying due to quick evaporation;
  • minimization of leaks and streaks;
  • finely-dispersed spraying;
  • forming a uniform crack-free film;
  • smaller consumption;
  • flavorless.
